The P42HHA10 incorporates our latest advances in plasma display technology and manufacturing to offer consumers the ultimate in image quality along with a striking new look."
The P42HHA10: Improved Image Quality, Versatility and Style
The Fujitsu Plasmavision Slimscreen P42HHA10 is designed for superlative high-definition image quality in every respect. It features a 1,024 x 1,024 pixel panel that yields an exceptional 1000 cd/m2 brightness and 1000:1 contrast ratio, for highly accurate color and grayscale reproduction and vivid picture quality. The P42HHA10 can display images at true 1080i and 720p resolution, as well as 480i and 720p SDTV signals, and like all Fujitsu Plasmavision models, features the company's exclusive AVM (Advanced Video Movement) digital video processor to assure the best-possible picture performance from any video source.
One of the most important features of the P42HHA10 is the AVM (Advanced Video Movement) processor as shared with all Fujitsu Plasmavision models. The processor virtually eliminates motion artifacts and flicker, improves vertical resolution and reproduces natural movement with ease. In addition, the processor's built-in line doubler converts NTSC signals and uses different types of processing for moving and still pictures, yielding smoother images with more natural movement and without visible scan lines. High definition television (HDTV) and DVD signals are also enhanced for the characteristics of the plasma display panel, to achieve optimum image quality. In addition, the P42HHA10 utilizes the latest generation of the company's ALiS (Alternate Lighting of Surfaces) technology, which discharges the electrodes in the plasma panel in a more efficient manner than conventional plasma monitors to achieve significantly higher brightness and definition, yielding extraordinary clarity, sharpness and color accuracy.
The P42HHA10 is the ultimate Convergent Visual Medium that is compatible with the widest variety of digital and analog video sources as well as the video output from a computer. A key enhancement to the monitor's connectivity is the inclusion of a DVI-D digital video input with HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection). This connection enables best-quality reception of all digital television broadcasts including copy-protected broadcasts, with direct digital input of high-definition television signals. In addition, the P42HHA10 provides a full suite of A/V inputs including two component video inputs, S-video, composite video and analog RGB video inputs, plus stereo audio inputs.
The P42HHA10 also features an RS-232C control port for integrated system operation and offers a wider range of picture adjustments, accessible via its on-screen menu and newly redesigned, easier to use ergonomic remote control. In addition, the controls on the monitor itself have been relocated to the right front edge for easier access, and are styled to discreetly blend with the P42HHA10's appearance. The monitor's versatility is further enhanced by the addition of a more powerful 20-watt stereo amplifier with external speaker outputs and volume, treble, bass and balance controls.
In common with Fujitsu's latest Plasmavision monitors, the P42HHA10 is newly restyled for a more elegant appearance. The front bezel that frames the display panel now features crisper, more defined corners and angles, for a sleek, yet refined look. The chassis color is now a lighter shade of metallic silver, to complement a wider range of decors and home entertainment systems. The ultra-slim P42HHA10 measures just over three inches deep, facilitating wall-, ceiling- or stand-mounting in custom installations and commercial environments.
The Fujitsu Plasmavision SlimScreen P42HHA10 carries a suggested retail price of $7,999 and is currently available.
Fujitsu's Innovative History
Research and development beginning in the 1960's produced breakthroughs that led to the first color plasma display in 1993, followed by Fujitsu's first 42-inch plasma display in 1996. The monitor offered an alternative and superior solution from traditional CRT displays, by providing a thin, lightweight display with features such as a viewing angle of 160 degrees and a widescreen aspect ratio.
In addition to the introduction of its first 42-inch plasma display monitor, Fujitsu also worked towards the development of the first plasma digital video processor. The processor enabled Fujitsu to manufacture and introduce the first-ever HD (high-definition) plasma monitor in 1999. Fujitsu's subsequent developments in digital video processing led to the creation of the single-chip AVM (Advanced Video Movement) digital processor, currently included in all Fujitsu Plasmavision SlimScreen monitors.
Fujitsu Plasmavision SlimScreen monitors offer versatility for a wide variety of environments, from home theaters to commercial installations. Delivering powerful big-screen impact yet measuring only a few inches in depth, Plasmavision monitors are designed to outperform all other plasma displays in their respective categories, providing dramatically higher brightness and contrast along with ease of operation. The current lineup of Fujitsu plasma displays offers a host of advanced performance features, along with elegant styling and unparalleled installation flexibility.
Recently, Fujitsu was honored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with the prestigious Emmy® Award. The award was in recognition of Fujitsu's outstanding achievement in technological advancement and its contribution to the plasma industry.
